About me

Hi there! I’m Laura Day, a writer, editor and unashamed sourdough enthusiast. I’m available for editorial commissions, copywriting, editing and consulting.

I’m a lifestyle reporter, mainly covering health and food, often from a social or anthropological angle. I’m also the co-founder and editor of Digest Magazine, an online food culture magazine for eaters and thinkers, known for its bespoke illustrations and absence of reviews.

I have an NCTJ and BJTC accredited BA Honours in Journalism (1st) from Liverpool John Moores University (my beloved hometown). As the university had no newspaper or magazine for students, I co-founded Savvy Magazine in my first year, with the brilliant Stephen Kelly. Our first headline feature was an interview with Quentin Tarantino. In 2009, I was awarded the university’s Neil Warburton Prize. As a creative aside, right now I’m writing a series of vignettes describing the environments I’ve missed during lockdown.

Come and talk to me on Twitter, though evidently I’m more of an observer than a tweeter. Or follow me on Instagram for pictures of yet another loaf.
